Woohoo! I'm past the halfway mark on my granddaughter's quilt! I'm so anxious to work on something else, but I know if I do I won't get it finished so I'm quilting away slowly but surely.
I have been reading so many good books lately. I really liked Little Princes by Conor Grennan. I usually don't like to read nonfiction but this one was written really well and it was a great story!
J.D. Robb is still going strong in Treachery In Death. I love her characters! J.A. Jance's Fatal Error is good and I just listened to Red Herring Without Mustard by Alan Bradley and read by Jayne Entwhistle. She makes Flavia deLuce the most awesome character!
There are some books that are just made to be listened to! Especially Harry Potter, Diana Gabaldone, Alan Bradley and Janet Evanovich. My imagination just couldn't give the characters those great voices.
We just got the iPad 2. I love reading books on the iPad! It has great bookmarks, I love the way the pages turn (with sound effects!), the lighting is good (I like to read in the car and you don't need an extra light to read at night), and it's not big and bulky so I can carry it in my purse. I like the Kindle because it's smaller and lighter weight, but I keep turning the pages as I hold it, you need an extra light, it's not as user friendly as the iPad and I like the iPad's color and, of course, all the other features! I love to play games and I like to be able to get on the Internet and the maps are cool too! I have the Kindle app on the iPad so I can have both! Oh! and I can also download an audiobook to listen to while I surf or play games!!! Life is great!!!
A friend has the Nook Color and it's nice with some of the same features as the iPad but I am a big fan of Amazon so that wouldn't work for me.
I'm very happy with the iPad 2 and now I'm off to play!

Here are a few pictures of quilts that haven't made it on here yet. The Labyrinth quilt was so much fun to make! I want to make another one but I have so many that I need to finish before I start another one. This picture doesn't really do it justice but it's the best I can get.
My Santa and the Trees quilt is paper pieced and was a lot of fun to make! I just love paper piecing trees!
I made a few extra blocks just for fun!
I'm hoping to get my granddaughter's quilt finished by St. Patrick's Day. It would be perfect since she looves green! Hand quilting is not my favorite thing to do so it's moving along slowly!
Here are some pictures from our trip to Vegas in September.
These are tornado tubes and ice sculptures at Arias.
Can you believe these are cakes?!?
Bellagio's atrium was awesome as usual! This little greenhouse was filled with orchids.
Don't you just love the tree man?!?

Wow! I've got a lot of catching up to do! Lots of Vegas pictures to post but they will have to wait. I do have pictures of a quilt I made for a friend who moved back to snow country. It's two quilts in one! The back is almost as good as the front! I had to buy more fabric for the front and then had extra so I used it for the back of the quilt. I love the turquoise fabric and the turtles are cool! I almost kept it for myself!

Woo Hoo! I got all the blocks done for the Hexagon quilt and the border on my granddaughter's I Spy quilt! Now I can start putting the Hexagon quilt together and I need to get the back done for the I Spy quilt so I can get it quilted.
I got two more blocks done on the Jelly roll quilt but I'm behind and need to get two more done and the new block will be up tomorrow! I need to get busy! I'll blame it on the heat!
The Arizona heat has finally hit us. It was about 102 today.
The Dalias and Petunias are looking good.
Have you ever seen balloon flowers? They're pretty awesome!!!
I'm listening to The Cheater by Nancy Taylor Rosenberg and I'm reading Dandelion Fire by N.D. Wilson and Hissy Fit by Mary Kay Andrews. All are good so far.

I'm now listening to Between the Plums by Janet Evanovich and it's totally hilarious! I've almost finished reading 100 Cupboards and The Memorist.
I got some more blocks done on the Hexagon Star hand pieced quilt. I think I only have eight more to piece.
I also got two more blocks finished on the Moose Quilts Jelly Roll Sampler quilt.
We went to Phoenix this weekend and I found a nice little quilt shop in Mesa called Quilter's Oasis. I found some green to finish my granddaughter's quilt, some reds and pinks for a watermelon quilt I want to do, some white tone-on-tone for the next hand pieced quilt I want to start soon and a piece of green that I just had to have! The staff is very friendly and I will definitely go back when I get a chance.
The main reason for our trip to Phoenix was to see Brooks & Dunn's Last Rodeo concert. They've always been my favorite country stars. The concert was awesome and sad. They will be greatly missed!

I'm listening to a great book! The Weed that Strings the Hangman's Bag by Alan Bradley is an awesome book. Flavia is such a great character. She was also great in The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie. The stories are read by Jayne Entwhistle (don't you just love her name?!?) and her English accent makes them a pleasure to listen to.
I've finished another block in my hand pieced quilt and I'm terrible! I started another quilt! We don't have a book budget at the library so I decided to donate a quilt (actually 2, one for a girl and one for a boy) to raffle off for money for children's books. I've got the girl's quilt cut out, I just need to piece it together and quilt it. We'll see how well they do!
I also found one in the new Fons & Porter magazine that I want to do - the watermelon quilt on the cover. I've always wanted to have a quilt or two to sit/lay on to watch the Fourth of July fireworks. This one looks perfect!!!
Time to get busy!!!

Wow! Time sure flies! It's May already! Our weather has been crazy. Nice then cold and windy then hot then cold and windy again. Today it's cloudy.
We had Jessi spayed Friday. I didn't know dogs could look and act so loopy! She's almost back to normal today. She's prancing around and feels a lot better.
I got four block done this week, two of the hand pieced ones
and two of the Moosequilt jelly roll sampler.
